Group Participation
The majority of your participation will be in one or more groups. ACS Village has categorized the groups by National, Regional or Local and named them according to their general purpose or topic of interest. The topics below describe the components available in each Group and how they could be used by the community.
For more information about Groups specifically, see Search for Groups, Group Security, Create A Group or Rename a Group
Overview
This is the Group's Home page that allows you to Join or Leave the Group, set your group Email Digest preference as well as create brief, unformatted What's Happening posts about Activity Updates, Recognition, and Reminders to be shared with other group members.
Your entries are added to the Recent Activity feed which is similar to Facebook's News Feed where you can scroll to see what everyone recently posted today or this week.
The type of content for this section should be temporary in nature since members probably won't scroll very far especially if they are looking for something they need right away and think they saw a month or more ago.
Info
This area (aka a "Wiki page") is designed for static, frequently referenced, How-To or Encyclopedia style content categorized into multiple pages, topics and/or sections of information.
Each page can be formatted with Styles, Pictures, Video & Tables and by creating a Table of Contents using hyperlink references to other wiki pages, navigation is accomplished without having to write any website code.
Blog
This area is used for frequent, newspaper article style content. Similar to Wiki pages, the content can be formatted with styles, pictures, videos & tables and you can also create one long article or a "continue reading below the fold" section.
Unlike the Wiki, topical Categories can be customized and assigned when a Blog post is created and posts can be scheduled to be published at a future date & time.
Each Blog post is also automatically added to an archives that can be filtered by Category, Date or Author to make future reference easier.
